Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Will The Extractor pull or extract field points?

A. Yes, it will pull all field points and broadheads with an 8/32" thread pattern (standard thread in the archery industry).

Q. Will The Extractor hurt my broadheads?

A. Occassionally some poorly designed aluminum broadheads will be torn in half by the pulling power generated by the tool. We have tested many different brands of broadheads. Most are extracted with no damage to the head. Contact us for information regarding certain broadheads we have had poor luck with. The tool works best with high quality aluminum, stainless steel and titanium broadheads.

Q. The threaded portion of a broadhead broke off inside the nose of the tool. How do I get it out?

A. You can send the nose portion of the tool back to us and we will repair it or replace it free. You pay return postage to us. We will take care of the rest. You can remove the broken portion by drilling a shallow 1/16" hole in the broken broadhead, then remove it with a 1/16" allen wrench. You can also glue a wooden match stick onto the broken portion of the broadhead and easily unscrew it.

Q. Will The Extractor pull expandable bladed broadheads.

A. Yes, they all extract just fine.

Q. I swapped the tool body from a 3 blade to a 4 blade body. When I tightened the set screw and put it back together, it binds up and is hard to turn. What did I do wrong?

A. The set screw does not need to be tightened. It simply needs to make "light" contact with the inner brass retaining collar. The screw simply keeps the inner workings from falling out. It doesn't take any torque or pulling pressure.

Q.  Does the tool carry a warranty?

A. Yes! The tool has a lifetime warranty against materials and defects. If you experience any problems with the tool, simply box it up with a letter stating the problem and send it back to Flinch Outdoor Gear P.O. Box 117 Springville, Utah 84663 postage paid for repair or replacement. We will replace or repair the tool and ship it back to you free of charge.
